Practical translation exercises, analyzing and comparing features of actual translations as well as students' work will heighten students' awareness of key differences in German and English language patterns, style conventions and text strategies. Students are also introduced to various translation tools to help them develop and apply successful translation strategies. The course assumes functional German competence in writing.
