Taking efficient notes in lectures and making structured contributions to seminars are essential skills students at university need. We will use clips from lectures, podcasts and radio broadcasts to introduce and practice various note-taking strategies, note layouts and discussion moves with special emphasis on the language typical of academic settings. The topics tie in with issues from the students' modules.
