This course surveys various post-68 Marxist theories and the debates connecting them. After an introduction to key terms in critical political economy, the course moves to discuss Autonomism, Marxist feminism, eco-feminism, new developments in Anarchism, left tendencies in critical race and queer studies, and affect theory. This is an opportunity to become familiar with both Marxism and the latest contributions in social and political thought. Where possible, we also look at some of the new social movements and forms of protest informed by these debates. |
