This course presents graduate students with the opportunity to hone their skills to produce competent, effective writing. Participants will analyse the individual components common to various text types and prepare their own texts for peer review and discussion. The focus is onpurpose and strategy, style and cohesion, as well as onthe acquisition of advanced language structures common to academic discourse. Furthermore, attention will be paid to pre-composition skills such as selecting sources, planning, and avoiding plagiarism. Class limited to 15 participants.
