This is the second part of a project seminar that examines the impact of electoral vulnerability on policy outcomes relying on quantitative methods and an original data set. This course is about the functions and effects of political institutions. We will look at the institutional framework in different countries, and how these influence the decisions of political actors and final policy outcomes. Each student will be “responsible” for describing the political institutions in one specialty country, following the instructions in the weekly readings. By the end of the course, each student will have an in-depth understanding of the institutions in one country and general information about the institutions in several other countries. |
