In this course we will discuss how to communicate effectively and appropriately in English with pupils at different stages of the curriculum. Participants will develop a range of strategies for classroom discourse in key areas such as classroom management, leading group and pair work, instructional language, how and when to use metalanguage, and eliciting and correction. These strategies will then be tried and tested in a variety of classroom-based activities intended to promote competence in speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
