This course is mainly aimed at American Studies students; BA English students and Exchange students welcome if there are places available. We will look at key differences between German and English text conventions, sentence structure and grammar and see how they are played out in translation. We will also address issues of professional translation. Students learn how to apply their knowledge of typical language patterns and the effective use of translation tools to develop successful translation strategies.
