The course is intended for BA English students who take a final exam; American Studies students welcome if places available. The course uses short authentic texts to address typical headaches that native speakers of German face when translating into English. A supplementary set of grammar exercises highlights structural differences between the two languages and helps students develop strategies for avoiding classic German-English translation mistakes. Two translations in class and one mock exam. Second-year students and higher: Please register by 2 October 2012 using the printed form you find under “Weitere Links” (see top of the page). |
