This course takes students through the key stages of making presentations such as planning an outline, deciding on presentation techniques, employing effective transitions, controlling anxiety and fielding questions. In-class debates give students the opportunity to develop debating techniques such as the analysis of competing ideas and the formulation of convincing arguments. Students are required to prepare and deliver a 20-minute presentation and take part in class debates and panel discussions.
