This course focuses on important contemporary issues concerning civil liberties and political, economic, and social developments in the U.S. Participants will complete weekly readings at home, take part in discussions, and write and revise two 3-5 page essays. Special attention will be paid to the effective planning and structuring of academic papers and how to make paper argumentation clearer and more convincing. Attend the first scheduled class meeting (Oct. 22) to receive a place in the course. |
