This Moodle-supported course is designed to develop all language skills with special focus on listening, speaking and writing on the basis of science-related topics (e g: research, discoveries, global warming, the internet). You will practise different listening strategies, writing letters of application and opinion/argumentative essays. You will be expected to give a short presentation on a science-related topic of your choice during classes and submit a written assignment by the end of June which will count towards your final grade. Moreover, in this course you will revise and boost vocabulary (technical/general academic) and extend your command of grammar. The Leistungsnachweis will be awarded on the basis of regular and active participation as well as successful completion of the final tests in the penultimate week of the semester: listening, reading and use of English (grammar/vocabulary). |
