Willkommen bei Nord-Sotho I! Die Sotho-Sprachfamilie umfasst Nord-Sotho, Süd-Sotho, Tswana und Rotse und wird somit von den Caprivi in Namibia über Botswana, die Nord-, West- und Zentralprovinzen Südafrikas bis nach Lesotho gesprochen. Der Kurs bietet Ihnen einen ersten Zugang zu der am weitesten verbreiteten Sprache des südlichen Afrikas. Für diesen Kurs von 4 Semesterwochenstunden brauchen Sie keine Vorkenntnisse. In einer ersten Doppelstunde werden Sie mittels der Grundstrukturen der Sprache in alltägliche kommunikative Situationen eingeführt. Am Ende jeder Lektion stehen grammatische Übersichten und Vokabellisten sowie Übungsarbeiten, um die im Unterricht behandelten grammatischen Konstruktionen anzuwenden. Um Ihre Sprech- und Hörfähigkeiten zu entwickeln, wird eine zweite Doppelstunde im Sprachlabor angeboten. Der Kurs wird mit einer Klausur abgerundet. Welcome to Northern Sotho I! The Sotho language family consists out of Northern Sotho, Southern Sotho, Tswana and Rotse. Altogether, these languages are spoken in four countries: South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, and the Caprivi strip in Namibia. This course gives students access to one of the South African languages with the largest distribution. The course comprises 4 contact hours per week and students do not need any prior knowledge to enter the course. Students are introduced in the first 2 contact hours to the sound and notation system of the languages (Phonetics/Phonology) as well as the grammatical structure of the language (Syntax, Semantics). Daily communication situations are used to explain these structures. Every lesson is concluded with a grammatical overview, vocabulary list and exercises in order to practice the newly acquired knowledge. The second 2 contact hours are used to develop speaking and listening skills with the help of audio-visual stimulus. The course is concluded with a written examination. |
