This course in German-English translation uses a variety of authentic texts and a collection of specific exercises to highlight and practice typical difficulties in German-English translation. There is a strong comparative focus with emphasis on key differences between German and English as to structure, grammar and vocabulary. Translations will generally have to be prepared at home but there will be plenty of opportunity for translation in class.
