Please, note: American Studies students take priority over any other applicants. This course will help the students develop the skills needed to write an academic term paper: examining the requirements of the “genre” and professorial expectations, developing a thesis, outlining, paragraphing, flow/coherence, documentation, academic tone and style, integrating theory, revising for clarity, expanding drafts and editing, giving peer responses, etc. There will be one shorter paper (2-3 pages), and one longer paper (5-7 pp.), as well as exercises each week.
