In this course students will have the opportunity to examine some of the more contentious issues in British politics and society today. By means of presentations, discussions and debates, students are required to provide fellow course participants with a set of critical perspectives on what it means to be a British citizen today. Emphasis is on developing the skills needed to participate in discussions tackling difficult and controversial issues, to spontaneously formulate convincing arguments and to deliver effective presentations.
