April 2011 In this course, students will have an opportunity to reflect upon linguistic and cultural issues that shape professional communication between individuals from different societies and cultural backgrounds, with particular emphasis being given to Anglo-German negotiations. In addition to sensitising students to possible conceptual, linguistic and discoursal differences that may influence the way professional communication is conducted in different societies, the course will enable students to develop and practise the oral and written skills they need to communicate effectively in English in a range of situations involving professional cross-cultural exchange. These will involve planning, organizing and conducting simulated meetings and participating in project-work linked to intercultural management. max. 15 Teilnehmer. |
