This Tutorial explores the intersection of identity and belonging through the lens of Turkish cinema. By examining films that engage with themes of migration, political expression, and cultural transformation, participants will analyze how cinema reflects and shapes individual and collective identities. The course takes a transnational approach, linking local narratives to global discourses on belonging. Participants will engage in film analysis and theoretical discussions during the semester. Throughout the tutorial, they are expected to create their projects (photography, short movies, etc.) to express their interpretation of belonging. The course is designed for students from various disciplines interested in media studies, migration, cultural identity, and political representation. No prior knowledge is required, but an interest in interdisciplinary research and visual culture is encouraged. The course is conducted in English.
