The Meisterkurs: The Shadow of God will be held at the Humboldt-Universität from Monday 22 July until Friday 26 July. It will be led by Michael Rosen (Harvard University and HU, Berlin) and J.-P. Sandmann (Harvard University and FU, Berlin).
The subject-matter of the course will be Rosen’s 2022 book The Shadow of God: Kant, Hegel and the Passage from Heaven to History (Cambridge, MA: Harvard University Press). The book is a re-interpretation and contextualization of Classical German Philosophy, focusing particularly on the ideas of history and freedom. All participants are welcome, both students and visitors to Berlin. Those wishing to take the course for credit, however, must make an active contribution to it in the form of a short discussion contribution. The course schedule is posted on the course’s Moodle site:
