MIND
Not only philosophy, but cognitive science, linguistics, and other scientific fields are founded on comprehensive theories. The goal of this seminar is to develop students’ skills in understanding how sound theories are built through philosophical reasoning and argumentation. Besides enabling students to appreciate the structure of theoretical arguments, they’ll refine their ability to critically evaluate philosophical texts. By engaging with several classic papers in philosophy and theoretical cognitive science, we'll assess the validity and consistency of their underlying logic and judge whether their use of evidence is warranted. Students will also learn how to structure their philosophical and theoretical ideas and how to present them in a clear and comprehensible language.
