This research and writing course is designed to prepare you for and support you in writing your BA-thesis. Each student needs an academic writing project to make the most of this class: when taking this course, you should have a topic in mind that you would like to explore further in your BA-thesis.
We will cover topics such as: How to plan and organise your BA-thesis-project; how to formulate your research question; how to design an outline of and how to structure your thesis. Furthermore, we will talk about bibliographical conventions, methodology and style, as well as when and how to theorise and / or contextualise your topic.
The class is most effective for those students who have started to think about and want to start writing their BA thesis; that is, it does not make sense to take this course before the 5th semester (even if the "Idealtypische Studienverlaufsplan" suggests something else). |
