This seminar aims to have a look at both historical as well as modern-day America, delving into issues of culture, politics, society, sport and the media. The main focus of this course is on developing presentation techniques such as the formulation of convincing arguments and the analysis of various speakers’ rhetorical skills. Be prepared to actively participate in class and to give oral presentations (individually/in groups) as well as handing in written work in-between, receiving feedback from both the instructor and your peers.
