In this course students will develop and practise the oral communication skills necessary for engaging in academic discourse with an English-speaking expert audience on a variety of literary and cultural themes related to their studies. Attention will be given to structuring and managing an academic speech in English in order to make it sound convincing and authoritative to expert listeners as well to the role played by intonation and prosody in extended spoken English discourse. |
