The thematic focus of this course spans the Thatcher years to today, basically concentrating on the historical and current events that have shaped and continue to shape the UK since 1979. We will be drawing on a diverse range of texts and media. Be prepared to actively participate in class and to give oral presentations, write reviews as well as short essays, in addition to receiving feedback from both the instructor and your peers. This will be an in-person course at uni.
