Plotinus on the soul - Detailseite

In this seminar we will be engaging in a close reading and discussion of a selection of key texts in which Plotinus addresses problems surrounding his understanding of the soul.  Some of the chief issues here concern how the soul interacts with the body, his theory of affections and emotions, his theory of sensation, the vegetative soul, and the relation of individual souls to the World Soul.  No knowledge of Greek is required.  We will be reading all texts in English translation, but occasionally the Greek text will be discussed.
