This research seminar interrogates how coloniality shapes knowledge production and delves into why there are calls for decoloniality, the debates surrounding this movement, as well as how decolonial knowledge production and praxis can be achieved. Key works on decoloniality and feminist and indigenous epistemologies and methods will be engaged with. These approaches will guide students' research design and implementation of a small research project that are ideally related to their MA thesis. To further hone students' familiarity with decolonial praxis, the seminar will also have a series of thinking-doing-thinking exercises as well as discussions with guest speakers. |
