Ein Zugangsschlüssel ist für diese Anmeldung nicht nötig. “Fighting the ‘Isms’ Through TEFL” How can teaching English as a foreign language in schools raise students’ awareness of asymmetries of power and privilege in society? How can the study of literature and film in particular provide strategies for students at Sek. I and Sek. II level for confronting and overcoming ‘isms’ that lead to the marginalizing of various social groups? Taking approaches of Critical Pedagogy as a vantage point, this course investigates the potential of literature and film in the foreign language classroom as objects and tools for transcultural learning. Required primary and secondary literature will be provided online on a moodle platform and in a reader at Sprintout copy shop. |
