We play the role of translators of fictional works of refugees and emigrants - women and men, poets and writers who try to convey through literary works in their language their specific and personal experience of changing place, language, environment, and culture. We can imagine what the translations of their original works could sound like, what they could write about if they were living in Berlin now: about the city? about the people? about stores? about work? about your trauma? About your journey? About your childhood? About the war in your homeland? About loss or new experience? We will invent their emotions, biographies, dreams, their everyday work, and the place where they live. Is it someone who is on a creative scholarship, someone who is an artist? is it a homeless person, living in an S-Bahn station? The task will be to present their poems and prose fragments in their translation, with comments from the translator and editorial notes.
