Europäische (einschließlich russische) und amerikanische Interventionen in Afrika seit dem Kalten Krieg/ European (including Russian) and American Interventions in Africa since the Cold War period
Alle militärischen und politischen Interventionen von Europäern und Amerikanern in Afrika wurden von einem philanthropischen Diskurs der Hilfe für die „armen Afrikaner“ begleitet. Die Zeiträume der Interventionen, über die wir sprechen, sind: -Kolonialzeit (19. bis 20. Jahrhundert); - Zeit der Entkolonialisierung (1956-1975); -Periode des Kalten Krieges (1945-1991); -Periode des Staatszusammenbruchs (1991-2001); -Periode des „Globalen Krieges gegen den Terror“ (2001-2010).
1-Anhand spezifischer Beispiele aus verschiedenen Ländern werden wir zeigen, wie diese Interventionen durchgeführt wurden. 2- Wie reagierten die Afrikaner in jeder dieser Perioden 3-Wir werden den legitimierenden Diskurs der „Hilfe für Afrika“ diskutieren, indem wir ihn beispielsweise mit den legitimierenden “Win-Win“ -Diskursen vergleichen, die die Chinesen bei ihren Interventionen in Afrika verwenden.
All the military and political Interventions of Europeans and Americans in Africa have always been accompanied by a philanthropic discourse of aid to the „poor Africans“. Here are the periods of the interventions in question: -Period of Colonization (19th century to 20th century); - Period of Decolonization (1956-1975); -Period of the Cold War (1945-1991); -Period of State Collapse (1991-2001); -Period of the „Global war on terror“ (2001-2010).
1-Using specific Examples from different countries, we will show how these interventions were carried out; 2- What were the reactions of Africans during each of these periods; 3-We will discuss the legitimizing discourse of „aid to Africa“ by comparing it, for example, to the „win-win“ legitimizing discours that the Chinese are using in their interventions in Africa.
The aim of this course is first, to provide students a sound knowledge on the topic discussed as well as the regions and countries concerned; and second, to transmit to them, at the same time, the ability to discuss and analyze methodically the content of the proposed texts with arguments and critiques.
In our courses, we follow the methods of history and we discuss the theories mentioned in the course texts, should the occasion arise. |
