The seminar aims to study the contribution of religious communities to processes of sustainable development in two different contexts, Germany and South Africa. The seminar is a "Q-Kolleg", an interdisciplinary research seminar offered in collaboration with the Faculty of Theology and Religion at University of Pretoria (UP), South Africa.
Participants will conduct their own research projects. For this, they can either (A) work on a research question of their own choice and form a research partnership with a UP student to mutually comment and discuss one another's research, or (B) form a tandem with a UP student to work on a selected research question together.
This seminar is the continuation of the Q-Kolleg that started last semester. However, interested students are still welcome to join. Ideally, this course would be taken together with the block course “Tensions of Transdisciplinarity – A Master Class on Religious Communities and Sustainable Development” (31 May to 11 June 2021). Within this framework, the UP/HU teams will present their findings during the conference “Between Cosmology and Community – Religion and Sustainable Development” that will take place at HU from 08 to 11 June 2021. |
