What do we gain from listening to the trans voices in our communities and theory? What do we miss out on when we don’t listen? Trans theory is still considered niche, a subdiscipline of the itself still marginal queer theory, our right to speak on our own terms conditional when granted at all. In this second part of the two-semester course, we will engage with a number of trans interventions and contributions within and across various fields. Our goal is to uncover and discuss just some of the potential and actual contributions made by trans authors and activists and to develop our own competencies in relation to trans topics within and beyond queer theory. |
