This course will compare textual composition conventions in English and German academic writing. A variety of language exercises addressing structural, lexical and grammatical pitfalls in German – English language transfer will provide strategies for producing readable yet formal academic prose in English. The course will use authentic academic texts from typical fields in English studies.
