During the last decades there has been a growing interest in religion and sustainable development both within academia and among development organizations. Starting with a closer look at the term of sustainability, the seminar will investigate different religious communities’ activities in the field of sustainable development. Case studies from African, Latin American and Asian contexts will be discussed. The seminar will take place every two weeks starting on 15 April 2019. Moreover the international conference “Between Cosmology and Community: Religion and Sustainable Development” and the lecture series “African Independent and Pentecostal Approaches to Theology and Development” from 2 to 6 July 2019 are part of the seminar. |
