Introduction
The seminar is designed to explore the range of gendered analysis of built environment in the culturally diverse context of Berlin with a hybrid andinterdisciplinary approach. Spanning Sociology, Architecture, Philosophy, Literature, Geography and Urban Planning will be conducted.
This bilingual seminar is organized as a part of the seminar series “Berlin in Dialogue” for refugee, German, and international students by the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration research. The seminars have been granted the prize “Menschen mit Hintergrund” by the university of Regensburg and the BAMF in December 2016.

Part I. The trilogy of Gender, Space and Body
The first part of the seminars will be dedicated to Space, body and gender, their political, socio- economic and cultural dimensions and their interdependent and multilayered relationships to see where each feeds the other. It will encompass analysis of femininities and masculinities in relation to place.
Part II. The Topography of Gender
The second part of the seminars will focus on the complex and multi-layered sphere of influences of gender. It will also consider the connection or the interdependencies between gender and following topics.
- Violence, Intersectionality of power and difference
- Post- colonialism, migration and Transnationalism
- Embodied geopolitics, war, religion
- nature, environment and resources
- family and work - Gendered labour: Power-laden practices and binaries of production and social reproduction
Part III. The geography of Gender
Gender, diversity and multiculturalism will be the central themes of our focus in this part for understanding the relation between gender identity, the city of Berlin and its development. It assess the process of involvement or non/ involvement of migrants from developing countries living in post-colonial western European society of Berlin from the perspective of gender relations
Practice| de:mapping Berlin
The seminars will be followed by a practical part as course project which students have to put theories into practice and develop a portrait of Berlin through interviews, observations and based on the methods will be discussed in the seminars simultaneously based on personal interests and group dynamic.

مقدمة
صمم هذا الكورس لاستكشاف مجموعة من تحليلات الجندر في البيئة السائدة في سياق التعدد الثقافي في برلين. وذلك باستخدام أسلوب هجين من العلوم المتداخلة والتي تمر في علم الاجتماع والهندسة المعمارية والفلسفة والأدب والجغرافيا والتخطيط العمراني.

الجزء الأول: ثلاثية الجندر والمكان والجسد
الجزء الأول من الكورس سوف يكرس للمكان والجسد والجندر في أبعادهم السياسية والاجتماعية والاقتصادية والثقافية وبعلاقاتهم المترابطة ومتعددة الطبقات، لاكتشاف كيفية دعم الواحد منهم للآخر. وسوف يتضمن تحليلات للأنوثة والذكورة وعلاقتهما بالمكان.
الجزء الثاني: طبوغرافيا الجندر
الجزء الثاني من الكورس سيركز على تعقيدات المفهوم الجندري وعلى المجال متعدد الطبقات للتأثيرات على الجندر. سوف تتناول الصلة أو الترابط بين الجندر والمواضيع التالية:
- العنف، وتقاطع القوة والاختلاف.
- ما بعد الاستعمارية، والهجرة ومفهوم العابر للقوميات
- الجغرافيا السياسية المتجسدة، والحرب والدين
- الطبيعة والبيئة والمصادر
- العائلة والعمل، العمل المجندر: ثنائية الانتاج والاستنساخ الاجتماعي.
الجزء الثالث: جغرافيا الجندر
الجندر والتنوع وتعدد الثقافات، ستكون الموضوعات المحوري في هذا الجزء لفهم العلاقة بين الهوية الجندرية ومدينة برلين وتطورها. وكذلك تقييم عملية دمج أو عدم دمج المهاجرين من البلدان النامية والذين يعيشون في مجتمع بعد الاستعمار الأوروبي في برلين وذلك من منظور العلاقات بين الجنسين.
الجزء العملي: تفكيك خريطة برلين
الجزء العملي سيقوم فيه الطلاب بتطبيق الجزء النظري الذي تعلموه من خلال تحضير صورة لمدينة برلين من خلال المقابلات والمشاهدات التي تعتمد على الأساليب التي ستناقش في الفصل، وكذلك على الاهتمامات الشخصية للمشاركين وعلى ديناميكية المجموعة المشاركة.
