This seminar aims to have a look at modern-day Britain and Ireland, delving into issues of culture, politics, society, sport and the media. Our time span will cover the post-World War II era all the way to Brexit. Similarities as well as differences between the two “British Isles” will be discussed and worked on. Be prepared to actively participate in class and to give oral presentations as well as handing in written work, receiving feedback from both the instructor and your peers.
