*ENGLISH*: Gendered Public Spaces
This course with an interdisciplinary approach, will examine how definitions and relation between gender and public space are reproduced, negotiated and deployed in the context of transnational flows in Berlin. Fields of study will include Sociology, Architecture, Philosophy, Literature, Geography and Urban Planning. We will explore the dichotomy of private/public space in the multicultural context of Berlin along with how various categories of spaces gain meaning in our everyday lives according to the gender relations. An underlying project of the class will be to address the following questions: How do experiences of public spaces in Berlin differ for men and women from one another, and why? Which physical (architectural) and social aspect of public spaces associate them with women and others with men? In the course we will be engaged in critical thinking about personal experience in Berlin and academic perspectives. This will be followed by a practical part in which students have to put theory into practice and develop their own portrait of Berlin . The students should immerse themselves into a public space to gather information about the place based on the methods we discussed in the seminars. For the analysis, we will look at architectural and formal aspects, cultural contexts and political ideas. The result of student practice will be presented in the form of seminars and paper in blogs. To conduct our interdisciplinary investigation, in addition to reading of theoretical texts and articles, we will use documentaries, films, newspaper articles, and other media to discuss these issues.

التنوع الاجتماعي في الاماكن العامة
هذه الدورة سوف تكون قائمة على نهج متعدد الاختصاصات للتحقق كيف تمت اعادة تعريف الجنسين والأماكن العامة في إطار
التفاوض والانتشار في سياق التدفقات العالمية في برلين . مجالات الدراسة سوف تكون تشمل علم الاجتماع ، الهندسة المعمارية ،
الفلسفة ، الأدب ، الجغرافيا والتخطيط العمراني . سوف نكشف عم انقسام الأماكن الخاصة والعامة في إطار تعدد الحضارات في
برلين جنبا الى جنب مع كيفية الفئات المختلفة في المساحات العامة تكتسب أهمية في حياتنا اليومية وفقا للعلاقات بين الجنسين
هذه الدورة سوف تكون لمعالجة الاسئلة التالية :
كيف تختلف تجارب الأماكن العامة في برلين بين الرجال والنساء عن بعضها البعض ؟ ولماذا ؟
ما هو الجانب المادي ) المعماري ( والاجتماعي في الأماكن العامة المنتسبين اليها الرجال والنساء ؟
سوف نقوم بمشاركة التفكير النَقْدِ يّ حول التجارب الشخصية في برلين و وجهات النظر الأكاديمية وسوف يلحق به جزء عملي
حيث الطلاب سوف يقومون بفرض نظريات في موضع التطبيق بناء على وصف خاص بهم عن برلين . يجب على الطلاب ان
يزجوا بأنفسهم بالأماكن العامة لجمع المعلومات عن هذه الأماكن اعتمادا على طرق سوف نقوم بشرحها . في الحلقات الدراسيةمن
اجل تحليل هذه المعلومات سوف ننظر الى الجوانب المعمارية والرسمية في السياقات الحضارية والسياسيةنتائج تجارب الطلاب
سوف تعرض على شكل حلقات بحث ومدونات الكترونية لاجراء تحقيقاتنا المتعددة الاختصاصات بالإضافة لقراءة النصوص
والمواد النظرية سوف نقوم باستخدام الأفلام الوثائقية ، الأفلام ، مقالات الصحف و وسائل الاعلام الاخرى لمناقشة هذه القضايا
