Migration changes the social space and spatial imaginaries of people. New places accumulate new meanings. Spatial memories are forgotten and/or recalled. Shared memories become personal and personal memories turned to a spatial imaginary. Networks form and/or dissolve. Neighbourhoods serve as new territories. This human geography of migration to Germany is the main concern of the course. Learning theoretically about social space and migration, participants are encouraged to share their own experience of the social space in Germany. Of particular interest is the case of refugees in Berlin. Apart from indoor seminars, there are occasional meeting in the city to reimagine Berlin as a space of migration.
The theoretical ground of the course is a multi-dimensional approach to social space comprising territory, place, scale and network (TPSN schema). Here social space comprises all grids and horizons of social action, which are socially produce, and demarcate and segregate the material, social, and imaginary world(s). This comprehensive approach provides a basis to discuss migration and its spatiality. In doing so, instead of the history of space, the course focuses on the space of history.

فضاهای مهاجرت
مهاجرت، فضای اجتماعی را تغییر می‌دهد. فهم و خیال ما از فضا را دگرگون می‌کند. مکان‌های نو معانی تازه می‌يابند. خاطرات ما از جاهای قبلی فراموش شده و یا دوباره به ذهن فراخوانده می‌شوند. خاطرات فردی جمعی می‌شوند و خاطرات جمعی یک خیال اجتماعی را می‌سازند. شبکه‌هایی تازه ارتباطهای اجتماعی ما را شکل می‌دهند. رشته‌های دوستی گسسته شده و دوستان تازه به زندگی ما وارد می‌شوند. این دوره بر این جغرافیای انسانی مهاجرت تمرکز دارد. شرکت‌کنندگان در این دوره، با کمک نظریه‌هایی که می‌آموزند، تجربیات خود از زندگی در آلمان را در اختیار کلاس می‌گذارند. به طور خاص پناهندگان و پناهجویان ساکن برلین در مورد تجربه خود از فضای اجتماعی سخن خواهند گفت. کلاس‌ها گاهی در شهر و محیط آزاد تشکیل می‌شوند تا برلین را به عنوان فضای اجتماعی مهاجرت تصویر کنند.
پایه نظری این کلاس یک نظریه چندبعدی در مورد فضای اجتماعی شامل این ابعاد است: محدوده، مکان، مقیاس و شبکه. این رهیافت نظری زمینه‌ای برای فهم فضایی از مهاجرت فراهم می‌آورد. فضای اجتماعی شامل تمام شبکه‌ها و افق‌های عملی است که نتیجه جامعه‌اند و زندگی مادی، اجتماعی و تصوری ما را تقسیم کرده و مبنای عمل ما قرار می‌گیرند. مسلح به این تئوری می‌توان فضای اجتماعی مهاجرت را مورد مطالعه قرار داد. برای این کار به جای آن که بر تاریخ فضا متمرکز شویم از فضاهای تاریخ خواهیم گفت.

فعالیت‌ها: حضور در کلاس و همراهی در جلساتی که در فضای شهری تشکیل می‌شوند
خروجی دوره: یک وبلاگ که بر اساس تجربیات شرکت‌کنندگان، تصویری از فضای مهاجرت در اختیار خوانندگان قرار می‌دهد.
