The aim of this module is to learn and apply methods of Geoinformation Science in the broader field of spatial epidemiology. We will combine lectures, computer-based work, discussions, reading assignments and presentations. Several smaller assignments and a group work during the week are required. We will work with QGIS and R. The course will take place in an interdisciplinary and international setting bringing students from different backgrounds together.
Requirements: You have basic skills in GIS and preferably R. Or you are expected to gain basic R skills before the block course in September (We are happy to support you). Equally important, you are interested in spatial epidemiology and public health topics.
The course will take place in blocks (2 days during the semester and a week in September).
A mandatory, introductory online meeting will take place on Wednesday, 16th, 5pm.
