TED Talks presentations are wide-ranging, diverse and thought provoking. This course is centred around the Keynote Advanced course book based on selected TED talks. By the end of the course, participating students will have broadened their vocabulary and improved their presenting skills. Students taking part in this course will be exposed to authentic listening materials including native and non-native speakers- an essential tool in today’s world. Other language skills such as reading will also be covered as well as grammar and writing in the form of essays based on the topics covered in class. Those topics will include consumerism, the environment, identity and personal improvement. In order to pass the course, students will have to give a short presentation. They will also have to pass a listening test, which will be based on a TED Talk. There will also be a short reading test at the end of the course as well as a writing test. The writing test will be in the form of an essay about one of the topics covered in the course.
