The professional development course serves the purpose to reflect more actively on career perspectives in academia. In a first step we will gather information on a few crucial elements and skills which can contribute to a successful career in academia (e.g. reflections on the function of a doctoral thesis, funding strategies, recommendations on how to develop a research profile, how to publish in academic journals etc.). Later, course participants will develop first drafts of individual career plans. This course is exclusively designed for students of the MA RTP but can be opened for doctoral researchers of the BGSS.
