This seminar starts off from a critical discussion of core concepts and terms in International Development Cooperation, such as development, post-development, and/or feminist development policy. We then shift to the dimension of application and implementation, asking how theoretical and conceptual frameworks can be translated into practice - both in our own environments and elsewhere. The task for students is to reflect on theories, concepts, and implementation to a degree that allows them to come up with a project design of their own that, ideally, relates to their experience of past or present activities (e.g. in internships). The individual project ideas will be presented at the IAAW Study Day.
NOTE: For students in the MA program Asien-Afrika at IAAW, the accomplishment of a recent or the confirmation of a beginning internship is a necessary requirement for participation.
