In our interconnected world, English has become the global language of communication. This has blurred the lines between native speakers and so-called non-native speakers. From the Caribbean to the Philippines to India, in this course, we will explore the many different varieties of English that people now use to communicate on a global scale. We will also examine the social ramifications of speaking a non-standard variety of English.
This course is open to students in MA American Studies (3 LP/Übung) and MA English Literatures (2 LP/Übung).
