Lectures on distributed computing and data engineering:
Tentative list of topics: Commodity hardware, virtualization, cluster resource management, parallel and distributed programming models, architectures for data-intensive systems, messaging, partitioning, replication, consistency, distributed storage, batch and stream processing, scalable databases, scalable machine learning, cloud platforms, serverless computing.
The lectures will be accompanied by practical implementation tasks in the respective exercises on "Data-Intensive Systems". Passing these exercises will be a requirement for taking the final exam. |
