Inhalt
Kommentar

The course aims at advanced BA students and will have a quantitative empirical approach. Being comfortable with quantitative texts and a basic understanding of statistics from the BA methods courses is
a prerequisite. 
This course introduces students to the political economy of development by discussing how politics and economics shape development processes around the world. Broadly defined as how comminutes structure cooperation. This process is not exclusively happening in countries of the global south, but is ongoing everywhere. 
The course combines theory with real-world research to help students understand how key concepts like institutions, inequality, and the the state influence cooperation. Throughout the semester, we’ll look at how development is studied in political science and how empirical research can inform policy decisions. The course is designed to develop following skills: students will learn how to read and
assess research, transfer theories to practical examples, and communicate their findings clearly.
