The course covers the basics of (European) private international law and provides an overview of the applicable European instruments relating to international contracts and international torts, the Rome I and Rome II Regulations. Emphasis will be placed on subject matters relevant to international commercial litigation as well as arbitration.
Relevant reading material will be provided (or recommended) at the beginning of the course.
