This seminar seeks to interrogate how imperialism, colonialism, the modern world system, and the global order has shaped learning, research, and methodology; why there are calls for decoloniality and decolonizing research and methodology; and how a decolonial research praxis can be achieved. Key texts on decoloniality and decolonizing learning, research, and methodology will be read, discussed, and reflected on in class. This will be supplemented by in-class activities--ranging from practical tasks to critical reflection exercises--that will hone students' critical reflexivity and decolonial research praxis. |
