We will compare U.S. and EU copyright law. We will read seminal cases for both jurisdictions and will examine similarities and differences between the two legal systems. Among other things, we will cover the subject matter of copyright, ownership, duration and transfer, infringement, and exceptions and limitations to copyright law. We will briefly cover the foundations of each of these topics and then address some of the controversial issues that confront copyright law and policy today. International and doctoral students are welcome.
