This seminar is designed to accompany the inter-university lecture series titled “Rechtpopulismus ... quo vadis? – Expertisen, Fragestellungen und Ansätze aus der empirischen Kulturwissenschaft/Europäischen Ethnologie/Kulturanthropologie”. The overall goal is twofold: 1) to allow for a better understanding of the lectures by engaging with key texts (written by the lecturers or touching on key themes addressed in the lecture) in advance; 2) to create a shared learning and discussion space in view of deepening students’ understanding of right-wing populism. In terms of requirements, emphasis will be placed on active participation, with students being encouraged to present their own ideas on the texts and themes under discussion. The language of the seminar will be English: the texts will be in English or German
