This lecture course (Vorlesung) introduces a range of currently relevant research methods in (New) Area Studies. It addresses approaches from different disciplines and from the multidisciplinary field of Area Studies in general. In addition to the selected two methodology courses that MA students are studying in the module, the lectures provide basic knowledge about particular methods of (New) Area Studies. Students will be able to comprehend the relevance of methodological diversity in Area Studies and can answer basic questions relating to a variety of methods and methodological approaches.
