Gruppe 1: Developmental perspectives on gender and sexuality
DESCRIPTION: We will take a developmental perspective to discuss research in the range of gender and sexuality across the lifespan. Primary topics will be the development of sexual orientation and gender identity, gender differences in emotion expression, close social relationships, falling in love, reactions to break-ups, and sociosexuality.
Gruppe 2: All by myself? Social relationships and loneliness from a lifespan perspective
DESCRIPTION: The feeling we have when we perceive a deficiency in our social relationships is associated with a multitude of physical and mental health problems and has been declared a public health concern even before the pandemic drastically constrained our social lives. Besides providing an overview of stability and change, risk and protective factors as well as consequences of loneliness throughout the life span, this seminar will discuss how our perception of social relationships and loneliness changes in a world with increasing numbers of single households and technology that enables many of us to work, study, exercise, shop and share our lives without having to leave our apartment.
