This class is about discovering the different layers which the eminist movement in Turkey contains since the Ottoman Empire till today. After gaining some historical knowledge and learning some acts and dates o the movements and about different actors in it we are going to ask questions of justice, authority and power to the subject. We will discuss topics as gender, patriarchy, public/private sphere, women* in politcal theory, history of struggles or rights in Turkey, feminism and the state, women*’s partcipation in political partes and social movements, nationalism and women* and whatever else we discover what needs to be discussed. During and after that we will start to research and build expert groups ourselves with the knowledge we have already gained by reading articles and discussing with each other. What our outcome or result is, is going to be something we will decide together and it will accompany us through our whole process. |
